This position is part of an internal data science consulting team responsible for the delivery and support of analytic capabilities for Chevron upstream, midstream, downstream, and corporate functions. The function of this role is to partner with the business to identify opportunities to apply analytic tools and data science to achieve business value. The successful candidate that fills this position will have the skills to design, prototype, create, and support analytical solutions and insights.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.

The function of this role is to partner with the business to identify opportunities to apply analytic tools and data science to achieve business value. The successful candidate that fills this position will have the skills to design, prototype, create, and support analytical solutions and insights.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Identifying and framing opportunities to apply advanced analytics, modeling, and related technologies to data in order to help Chevron businesses gain insight and improve decision making, work flow, and automation. Understanding value of proposed opportunity.
- Identifying data necessary and appropriate technology to solve business challenges identified.
- Cleaning data, developing models, and testing models.
- Establishing the life cycle management process for models.
- Work with team lead on engaging business regularly to share team’s accomplishments and to identify additional opportunities.
- Providing technical mentoring in modeling and analytics technologies, the specifics of the modeling process, and general consulting skills.
- 3- 10 Yrs exp with at least 2 yrs Relevant exp
- Development, Testing and Deployment of AI ML solutions(Traditional ML Models, Boosting Algorithms, Supervised/ Un supervised learning, Neural Network, Computer Vision, Time series forecasting, XAI )
- Strong proficiency and Hands-on development exp in Python for AI/ML /DL / LLM frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn, Langraph & Promflow, Symentic kernel).
- Strong knowledge of ML engineering: feature engineering, training pipelines, evaluation, inference optimization.
- Experience with Azure (or equivalent cloud) services for AI delivery, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and API development (REST/ gRPC).
- Practical experience with MLOps( eg: ML Flow ) tooling and practices (CI/CD, model registry, monitoring, drift detection).
- Development, Testing and Deployment of AI ML solutions
- Experience with model monitoring/observability and production operations (logging, metrics, tracing).
- Deep Understanding of GenAI/LLM solution design (RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, Vector DB).
- Knowledge of secure engineering practices, secrets management, IAM/RBAC, and enterprise governance standards.
- BS or MS degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or Engineering degree required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in applying advanced analytics techniques.
- Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (e.g., oil & gas, energy, finance ,healthcare).
