Data Migration Architect

We are currently looking for an experienced Data Migration Architect to lead the design and execution of complex data migration initiatives from SQL Server–based environments (including SSIS pipelines) into Salesforce for one of our enterprise clients.

This role requires strong expertise in data architecture, ETL processes, SQL Server optimisation, and Salesforce data models, along with the ability to lead migration workstreams and ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable data movement.

• Design and define the end-to-end data migration architecture from SQL Server environments into Salesforce.

• Analyse existing SQL / SSIS pipelines and define transformation logic, mapping rules, and staging strategies.

• Establish best-practice migration frameworks, including incremental loads, reconciliation processes, and rollback strategies.

• Define data quality, validation, and exception-handling frameworks across the migration lifecycle.

• Review, enhance, and optimise SSIS packages to meet performance and governance standards.

• Implement data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation logic required for Salesforce compatibility.

• Handle large data volumes efficiently using batching, partitioning, and performance tuning.

• Architect and implement data loading strategies using Salesforce APIs (Bulk, REST, SOAP).

• Define and document Salesforce object mappings, relationships, and deduplication logic.

• Ensure migration processes comply with Salesforce governor limits and data model constraints.

• Implement data validation rules, reconciliation checks, and data quality monitoring.

• Work closely with business stakeholders and SMEs to validate data mapping and acceptance criteria.

• Maintain data lineage, auditability, and traceability throughout migration activities.

• Lead migration testing phases including unit testing, SIT, UAT, and performance testing.

• Plan and execute mock migrations, rehearsal runs, and go-live cutovers.

• Provide post-migration verification and hypercare support.

• Act as the technical SME for migration architecture and delivery.

• Collaborate with Salesforce architects, development teams, and business stakeholders.

• Own migration documentation including architecture diagrams, mapping documents, and runbooks.

• Support project managers in coordinating migration workstreams across multiple teams.

• Strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS ETL development

• Proven experience delivering large-scale data migrations into Salesforce

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, KingswaySoft, or similar ETL tools

• Strong understanding of data modelling, transformation rules, and staging architectures

• Experience handling large datasets and performance optimisation

• Data profiling and cleansing expertise

• Source-to-target mapping and transformation design

• Reconciliation and validation techniques

• Documentation of mapping specifications and migration runbooks

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

• Ability to work with technical teams and business stakeholders

• Experience leading complex migration workstreams

• Salesforce certifications such as Data Architect, Integration Architect, or Platform App Builder

• Microsoft certifications in SQL Server, Azure Data Engineering, or Data Integration

• Experience in CRM transformation or large enterprise system migrations

• Scripting knowledge (Python or PowerShell) for automation and data validation

• Extensive hands-on experience delivering end-to-end data migration projects

• Minimum 5+ years of leadership or team management experience

• Proven track record working with senior stakeholders in large transformation programmes
