  • Monitor capacity, performance and health of network security platforms; recommend and implement tuning and optimization.
  • Support continuous improvement of security monitoring and automation:
  • Develop or enhance runbooks, SOPs and automation scripts for common operational tasks
  • Integrate WAF, firewall, IDS/IPS and proxy events with SIEM and other monitoring tools
  • Support security incident response activities related to network and application security events, providing SME input on WAF, API and perimeter controls.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, troubleshooting guides and knowledge articles.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud and security engineering teams to:
  • Design and implement secure network and application architectures
  • Embed security controls into new solutions and projects with minimal business disruption
  • Contribute to enforcement of network security standards, patterns and policies across on‑premise and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Technical Skills

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience in:
  • Enterprise WAF technologies (e.g., application-layer filtering, bot protection, rate limiting, virtual patching)
  • API security solutions (e.g., API gateways, authentication/authorization controls, schema validation, abuse detection)
  • Network firewalls (traditional and next-generation; L3–L7 policy design, NAT, VPN)
  • IDS/IPS platforms (signature and behavior-based detection, tuning, rule lifecycle management)
  • Secure web gateway / proxy platforms (URL filtering, SSL inspection, threat protection)
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and concepts:
  • TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL, routing and switching basics
  • OSI model and troubleshooting network traffic with tools such as tcpdump / Wireshark
  • Experience with network security in cloud environments (AWS, Azure and/or GCP), including:
  • Cloud-native firewalls, WAFs and security groups
  • Hybrid connectivity and protection models
  • knowledge of common operating systems (Linux/Unix and Windows).

  • Good knowledge of general security concepts and methods, such as:
  • Vulnerability assessments and remediation
  • Intrusion detection and incident response
  • Security policy and standards implementation
  • Zero Trust and micro-segmentation concepts (nice to have).

Preferred

  • Relevant security and network certifications, such as:
  • CISSP, CCIE or equivalent
  • Vendor or platform certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, PCNSE, cloud security certifications such as AWS/Azure security specialties)
  • Experience in large, complex, globally distributed enterprise environments.

Other Information
