POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cybersecurity Analyst, Intern supports the Information Security team in protecting corporate and operational technology environments by assisting with monitoring, analysis, and documentation of security activities. This role provides hands-on experience across security operations, vulnerability management, and compliance initiatives while working closely with internal IT teams and external partners.
The intern will gain exposure to real-world security tools, processes, and frameworks, helping to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company systems and data. This position is designed to develop foundational cybersecurity knowledge, analytical skills, and professional experience in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in monitoring security alerts and events from SIEM, endpoint protection, and cloud security tools.
- Support investigation and documentation of security incidents, including gathering logs and relevant data.
- Help analyze alerts and identify potential security threats or vulnerabilities under supervision.
- Assist with vulnerability scanning efforts and tracking of remediation activities.
- Support identity and access management processes, including user access reviews and documentation.
- Contribute to maintaining and updating cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Assist with compliance activities related to PCI DSS and internal security standards.
- Participate in security awareness initiatives and training material development.
- Support security projects such as tool evaluations, system upgrades, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to understand system architecture and security best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, findings, and assigned tasks.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Certifications / Specific KSAs (Preferred):
- Progress toward CompTIA Security+ or similar certification
- Familiarity with Microsoft security fundamentals or equivalent coursework
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to assess risk, prioritize issues, and recommend practical security solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical risks in business terms.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and defensive controls.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams on complex issues.
- Ability to remain effective in a fast‑paced, evolving threat environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing security landscapes.
- Professional demeanor and strong collaboration skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to speak and hear clearly in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to operate a computer (desktop, laptop, tablet).
- Ability and willingness to travel to remote locations as needed (<10%).
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as required for incident response or maintenance activities.

Pay Range: $25/Hour
