Job Description
As a Culinary Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the education and training of aspiring culinary professionals. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Chef Instructors to ensure high-quality instruction, practical training, and food production across a wide range of cuisines. Candidates who have completed Management Training Programs from luxury hotel groups such as Taj Hotels, The Oberoi Group, or The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts will be strongly preferred.
- Assist in Food Production: Support the preparation and production of a variety of culinary dishes across Indian, Continental, Asian, and other global cuisines, following established recipes, techniques, and presentation standards.
- Instructional Support: Collaborate with Chef Instructors to demonstrate culinary techniques, assist in practical kitchen sessions, and provide guidance to students during hands-on learning.
- Recipe Development and Testing: Participate in the development and standardization of recipes, ensuring they align with curriculum objectives and current industry practices.
- Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient training kitchen. Monitor inventory, ensure proper storage of ingredients, and assist with procurement and stock control.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality, consistency, taste, and presentation of food prepared in practical sessions. Provide constructive feedback to students and assist in troubleshooting production challenges.
- Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards. Ensure students follow hygiene protocols and best practices in food handling.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on culinary trends, modern cooking techniques, ingredients, and industry innovations. Participate in workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance professional skills.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with class scheduling, maintaining production records, inventory documentation, student assessments, and other academic or operational responsibilities.
- Education: Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts from a reputed institution.
- Experience: Completion of a Management Training Program and/or relevant experience with luxury hotel groups such as Taj Hotels, The Oberoi Group, or The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts will be strongly preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of food production, culinary techniques, kitchen operations, menu planning, and food presentation. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Passion for Teaching: Enjoy mentoring students with diverse skill levels. Patience, motivation, and the ability to provide constructive feedback are essential.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic teaching environment with flexibility to support academic, operational, and culinary responsibilities as required.
