Job Description
- Creative Directors role is the face of our organisation to the outside world. Creative Directors are partners to all our clients working as the bridge between the agency and the client in setting the vision, strategy and methodology and creative products to deliver on the vision.
- The Creative Director is primarily responsible for the 4C’s of their team. Creative, Culture, Craft & Connect.
- Creative - Creative Directors are expected to build and run a team that is sharp, nimble and well-rounded as a team to deliver on any and every challenging brief that comes their way. You are the person all your team members, your colleagues from other functions and clients will look up to for creative solutions. You are expected to build and grow creative leadership and clout for IA.
- Culture – Creative Directors are expected to be the believers, followers, advocates and mentors of IA’s culture for their team, colleagues and clients. Creative Directors are responsible for all the wellbeing and being the mentor who is driving the entire team’s career to its best. This means that the leader should exhibit a lot of empathy and a skill of making people follow their work and life and learn from it.
- Craft – Besides being the best mind, the creative directors are essentially the keepers of the craft. You are expected to keep the game above industry standards and provide a leading edge to the team and the agency. We firmly believe that if the team delivers its best on the craft, there’s no holding back. Creative Directors are expected to be the champions of integration and must exhibit profound knowledge of all disciplines. The creative director must also exhibit the quality of understanding clients business as well as their own and delivering solutions on their feet to be respected and accepted as part of their team.
- Connect – Creative Directors at Interactive Avenues are the face of the organisation. They have the key to forging strong relationships with our clients by providing solutions that take the brands from one level to another. It is paramount at IA that the creative directors make the best use of their communication skills and forge strong relationships within the team, within the organisation to deliver integrated experiences and most importantly with clients.
Key Responsibility Areas:Creative Director is accountable for leadership and vision in four primary areas:
Creative Product
- Oversee all creative development from concept to final delivery for all clients
- Provide proactive contribution to clients’ business, demonstrating best-in-class digital and integrated solutions (innovation and quality)
- Drive collaboration with other verticals and agencies to ensure integrated, synergistic creative approach.
- Fosters innovation and quality to ensure delivery of best creative product in the industry
- Provide insight and analysis of creative trends/projections
Department Management
- Leads and manages Creative Department
- Attracts and retains top interactive creative talent
- Stewards career management and mentorship
- Ensures strong morale
- Works with Vertical Leads to allocate Creative department resources
- Works with Vertical Leads to allocate department budget and to ensure Dept profitability
- Member of Steering Committee, partnering with Dept leads to:
- Ensure dept. alignment, collaboration and focus
- Determine Office initiatives and progress
- Meet Office financial goals
- Oversees flawless delivery of Creative deliverables in Process
- Both documents and final product
- Escalation point for all ACDs, issues final approval on all Creative output
Client Leadership
- Provide overall thought-leadership for clients in the area of interactive marketing and creative
- Lead Creative meetings/aspects of meetings
- Secure and drive new revenue
- With Account Leads, drives new initiatives for clients
Business Development
- Respond to RFPs and/or requests for participation in mainline pitches
- Participate in the proposal process as required, or assign and oversee team as appropriate
- SkillsExcellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to inspire the creative team to give their best
- Best in class written and verbal communication, story-telling & presentation skills to make outstanding pitches
- Demonstrated ability to build creative strategies that deliver on brand, communication, marketing and business objectives
- In-depth understanding of latest technology trends and marketing automation/ technology landscape
- A self-starting attitude and an open outlook
- Analytical skills and detail oriented
- Plenty of creative ideas and an understanding of the clients' vision.
- Have established presentation skills
- Coordinate and deliver solid content plans
- Ability to visualize the big picture and passionate about executing it.
- Should have expert understanding of copywriting across channels
- An awareness of current trends in advertising and design
- Resilience under pressure and against deadlines
- Skills in driving efficiency and efficacy within the team and projects.
Qualifications
- B.A. in Creative Writing, Communication Arts, or equivalent
- Must possess at least 12 + years of digital agency experience
- Proven highly versatile writing skills. Portfolio necessary
