Internship Overview

The Research Coordinator Internship is a 13-month, full-time, in-person opportunity based in Noida (Delhi NCR). The selected intern will play an active role in GCTC's policy research, conference coordination, stakeholder engagement, and institutional development while working closely with senior government officials, military leaders, diplomats, policymakers, academics, and industry experts.

Outstanding performers will be given preference for suitable full-time opportunities at GCTC upon successful completion of the internship, subject to organisational requirements.


Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute national-level conferences, seminars, and strategic dialogues on security, defence, governance, public policy, and emerging technologies.
  • Liaise with Ministries (MHA, MoD, MEA), senior military officers, diplomats, policymakers, universities, and partner institutions.
  • Coordinate speakers, prepare programme material, manage logistics, documentation, and conference execution.

Research & Policy

  • Prepare event reports, policy briefs, strategic papers, concept notes, and background documents.
  • Track developments relating to national security, foreign policy, governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
  • Assist in post-event reporting, media outreach, and institutional communication.

Institutional Support

  • Support research publications, editorial work, and digital campaigns.
  • Assist with youth leadership initiatives, capacity-building programmes, and international collaborations.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Applicants should preferably possess:

  • A Master's degree (completed or final year) in Political Science, International Relations, Strategic Studies, Public Policy, Law, Defence Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent research, analytical, communication, and English writing skills.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate high-level programmes.
  • Prior internship, research, or event management experience will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Knowledge of Canva or similar design tools is desirable.
  • Willingness to work full-time in person from the GCTC office in Noida.

Exceptional Candidates: While preference will be given to applicants pursuing or holding a Master's degree, outstanding candidates with a Bachelor's degree who demonstrate exceptional research aptitude, writing skills, professionalism, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to public policy, governance, and national security may also be considered.


What You Will Gain

The incentive will be awarded based on the intern's overall performance, commitment, professionalism, attendance, quality of work, discipline, and contribution to GCTC's programmes and activities. The final incentive amount shall be determined solely at the discretion of GCTC.
