Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for a Content Strategist on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote.
The Content Strategist supports implementing and maintaining updates to the field intranet site. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Content Strategy, this role will provide hands-on content support for teams across the organization as we work to streamline and improve the field intranet site. As part of a centralized authoring team, you’ll help create consistency across the site and improve the user experience to help field members find the information they need, quickly.

Responsibilities
- Support cleanup and ongoing maintenance of field intranet content, including copyediting, formatting, testing and updating links, revising document titles, and verifying accuracy
- Implement requested content updates from business partners and manage an active work queue while meeting or exceeding a 3-day SLA
- Provide responsive, high-quality internal customer service to enterprise stakeholders
- Facilitate content owner outreach and coordinate updates during annual sitewide content reviews
- Review and edit content to ensure clarity, consistency, conciseness, and alignment with brand voice
- Support the development, maintenance, and documentation of site content strategy
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of content governance and review processes to maintain a cohesive content ecosystem
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in UX writing and/or content strategy within product, marketing, tech, agency, or freelance environments
- Strong writing and copyediting skills with excellent command of grammar, spelling, and vocabulary
- Experience with UX writing and technical writing principles
- Ability to adhere to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines
- Experience working in a large corporate environment preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- High level of accountability and ability to maintain consistent output
