Job Description

The Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection efforts of accounts receivable (AR) balances.

Supervise and develop Collections Analysts and Collectors, and manage their account loads.
Review collection system entries to ensure Collections Analysts and Collectors are entering detailed notes so that all internal departments have a clear understanding of AR status.
Support team DBO and days sales outstanding goals by providing assistance to the Collections Analysts and Collectors on problem accounts, difficult customer relationships and high-level disputes.
Review contracts as they relate to collection issues, including payment and invoicing terms.
Adjust parameters of the collection system’s collections strategies, as required.
Attend customer meetings to resolve ongoing issues and foster relationships.
Conduct meetings with Sales, Operations and Finance groups to address inquires and issues related to AR collections.
Review and approve refund and expense write-off requests made by Collection Analysts and Collectors.
Understand the company Product Lines and geographical organizational structure and identify contacts for specific needs.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including those within the Billing Center of Excellence, Credit, Sales, Operations, Tax and Treasury, to support and improve collection processes.
Ensure departmental costs stay within proposed annual budget.
Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as defined in the risk control matrix.
