Job Description
The Cluster Manager – Retail Sales will be responsible for driving sales growth, increasing market share, and expanding the distributor network across the assigned cluster. The role involves acquisition, engagement, and management of channel partners while ensuring superior client servicing and operational excellence across branches.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Growth & AUM Expansion
- Drive Gross Sales, Net Sales, SIPs, and AUM growth across the cluster.
- Develop and execute business plans aligned with regional objectives.
- Identify market opportunities and implement growth strategies.
- Monitor business performance and ensure achievement of sales targets.
2. Distributor Engagement & Business Development
- Manage and strengthen relationships with MFDs, IFAs, National Distributors, and Banking partners.
- Identify and onboard new distributors to expand market penetration.
- Drive activation and productivity of empaneled distributors.
- Conduct regular distributor meetings, training programs, and engagement initiatives.
- Increase SIP registrations and retail investor participation.
3. Team & Branch Management
- Lead and manage branch sales teams across the cluster.
- Ensure effective execution of sales strategies and business plans.
- Support talent development, motivation, and performance management.
- Monitor branch productivity and service standards.
4. Market Development
- Gather market intelligence on competitors, products, and distributor activities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to enhance brand visibility and market presence.
- Drive business expansion in emerging markets and underpenetrated locations.
5. Compliance & Operations
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and internal governance requirements.
- Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to deliver superior client experience.
- Maintain accurate business reporting and sales data management.
- Ensure compliance with industry and organizational policies.
Key Challenges
- Achieving sustainable sales growth in geographically dispersed markets.
- Expanding retail investor participation in emerging markets.
- Enhancing distributor productivity and engagement.
- Attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing sales talent.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 5–15 years of experience in Mutual Fund/AMC sales.
- Strong experience in retail distribution and channel sales.
- Proven track record of handling MFDs, IFAs, Banks, and National Distributors.
- Experience in managing large AUM and multi-branch operations.
- Strong leadership, relationship management, and business development skills.
