ABOUT THE JOB

This is a senior position, one of a 4 member core management team. The candidate will lead the considerable R&D function of the Company which includes new product development.


R&D is a core function at Fluidtherm & developments that have come from its Process Prototyping & Testing Facility keep the Company innovative & profitable.

The R&D activities are multidisciplinary but at the core is metallurgical plant & process innovation.

Fluidtherm is a professionally managed meritocracy that engages in the research, design, manufacture & installation of Industrial furnaces primarily (but not exclusively) for Heat Treatment (carburising, nitriding, etc) , Powder Metallurgy (debinding, sintering, secondaries, etc) and Emerging Technologies (energy materials, heavy metals, graphene, reduction, calcination, etc). Apart from India, we serve customers in S. Korea, China, the EU & USA. 

Our in-house R&D process prototyping facility has been responsible for researching & developing solutions for new processes, optimising existing processes, developing purpose built equipment & as a consequence Fluidtherm has landed several large & turnkey projects for commercial scale plants.  SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (in no particular order) 

·        Customer interface for plant & process development, technical presentations & marketing assistance.

·        Customer support in terms of process prototyping, scientific investigation & failure analysis,

·        Prepare & execute Design of Experiment (DoE) for development trials

·        Co-ordinate the metallography effort, study of samples and analysis.

·        Provide material solutions to the Manufacturing & Engineering Departments.

·        Manage the operation & maintenance of several furnaces & test equipment.

·        Prepare investigation reports: text, charts & graphs of high quality.

·        Organise & develop training programs for colleagues in R&D, manufacturing and marketing.

·        Continuous up-gradation of all heat treatment and powder metallurgical processes.

·        Participate in & contribute to Conferences, Seminars, professional societies & technical forums.

·        Ensure Safety & compliance related to all R&D processes.

·        Customer site visits for plant start-up-related process troubleshooting.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

·        An inquisitive mind and a passion for investigators leading up to the solving of technical puzzles.

·        5-10 years of R & D experience in an engineering Company, division or start-up.

·        High level of fluency in written & spoken English & conversational skills in Hindi.

·        Expertise in physical metallurgy, heat treatment & powder metallurgy will be an asset.
