Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The CCTV Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the terminal's CCTV system to ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, and operations. This includes proactive surveillance, incident response, and providing support to security personnel and other departments.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Below main accountabilities required by the job holder:
- Continuously monitor all CCTV cameras across the terminal.
- Identify and report any suspicious or unusual activity, including security breaches, safety hazards, and operational irregularities.
- Proactively identify and report potential security threats.
- Monitor access control points and ensure proper authorization procedures are followed
- Respond promptly to alarms and alerts from the CCTV system and other security devices.
- Coordinate with security personnel on the ground to respond to incidents effectively.
- Gather and record evidence from CCTV footage for investigation purposes.
- Monitor the performance and functionality of the CCTV system.
- Identify and report any technical issues or malfunctions to supervisors and IT.
- Assist with system maintenance and upgrades
- Prepare daily/shift reports on CCTV monitoring activities and any significant incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of all events and incidents.
- Maintain effective communication with security personnel, other departments, and emergency services.
- Read, reply and effectively react on emails from internal and external customers.
- Respond to inquiries and requests for information related to CCTV footage.
- Receive emergency calls via the hot line and take proper action according to the nature of emergency.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 2 years prior experience in a maritime security-related role is preferred.
- High School level, ability to read, write Arabic and English.
- Experience with CCTV systems, security protocols, and emergency response procedures is a plus.
- Decent computer skills, windows (word, excel and outlook).
- Decent Level of English, writing and speaking
