The Operations Manager is the heartbeat of Overflow. You will manage a team of 15+ employees, serving not just as an administrator, but as a mentor and a reliable resource. Your goal is to ensure the cafe runs like a machine while the team feels heard, supported, and valued.

Key Responsibilities
1. People, Support & Culture
- Staff Resource: Act as the go-to person for staff issues, questions, and daily support, ensuring a positive work environment.
- Leadership with Heart: Maintain workplace discipline according to Overflow’s guidelines, but resolve conflicts with empathy and respect.
- Growth & Development: Coordinate with Department Heads (HODs) to facilitate and document weekly training, helping our team grow in their craft.
- Fair Scheduling: Manage the weekly duty rota, ensuring business needs are met while respecting staff leaves and unpaid leave policies.
2. Operational Integrity & Quality
- Daily Audits: Ensure the highest standards of food safety and personal hygiene are met across the entire cafe.
- Standardization: Oversee the implementation of opening/closing checklists and deep cleaning sheets.
- Proactive Resolution: Review monthly temperature logs and provide immediate solutions for any operational obstacles that arise.
3. Procurement & Inventory
- Supply Chain Management: Verify digital Purchase Orders and audit invoices to ensure we receive the best quality goods from our vendors.
- Inventory Oversight: Perform weekly audits to manage stock levels and keep all storage areas neatly organized.
- Waste Management: Monitor daily wastage logs to ensure our production remains sustainable and efficient.
4. Customer Experience
- Feedback Integration: Organize and analyze customer feedback to ensure our FOH team is providing an exceptional experience.
- Database Management: Maintain the customer database and personally ensure that constructive feedback is addressed.
Requirements
- Experience: Management background in specialty coffee or a multi-department hospitality environment.
- Emotional Intelligence: A natural ability to connect with people, listen, and offer support while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Accountability: A person of high integrity who leads by example.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in digital systems for inventory, scheduling, and team communication.
