CAD Designer (NX)

About the Role:

Xtrawrkx is hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the role of CAD Designer (NX) / Design Engineer. We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional with strong expertise in NX CAD who is enthusiastic about working in the electric vehicle domain.

The candidate will be responsible not only for designing components and mechanisms but also for working closely on packaging and engineering to ensure production readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design parts and mechanisms for electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers using CAD software
• Develop mountings and trims for vehicle components
• Understand evolving requirements and address technical constraints
• Present and justify design concepts and ideas
• Create detailed 2D drawings and maintain design documentation
• Support physical prototyping of components and mechanisms
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Styling teams
• Incorporate feedback and iterate designs accordingly
• Provide regular updates on project progress
• Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Work efficiently within dynamic timelines
• Stay updated with the latest automotive/EV industry trends
• Take on additional responsibilities as per project needs

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automobile, or related field)
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in the automotive/EV domain
• Hands-on experience in automotive components and plastic part design

Required Skills & Knowledge :

• Proficiency in NX CAD and 3D CAD tools
• Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Knowledge of sheet metal operations
• Understanding of injection moulding processes
• Strong communication and presentation skills
