Position Title: Buyer & Planner – Retail & D2C
Department: Merchandising / Retail
Location: HO Reporting To: Head – Retail / Business Head

Role Summary We are looking for a strategic and data-driven Buyer & Planner – Retail & D2C to drive end-to-end merchandise planning, buying, and Go-To-Market execution at TIGC. This role will manage seasonal financial plans, optimize inventory productivity, and ensure profitable growth across Retail (EBO/Franchise/MBO) and D2C channels through strong assortment planning and disciplined inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandise Planning & Financial Ownership
• Build seasonal merchandise financial plans covering NSV, Margin, Inventory, and Markdown.
• Own OTB planning, phasing, and intake control aligned with sales budgets.
• Drive GMROI, inventory turns, and working capital efficiency.
• Forecast demand at category, cluster, and channel level.
• Control depth, option productivity, and stock cover norms.
Buying & Assortment Strategy
• Develop seasonal buy plans aligned to trend, price architecture, and margin targets.
• Define category-wise width vs depth strategy.
• Plan cluster-wise size mix and regional assortment.
• Ensure core replenishment and newness calendar discipline.
• Avoid duplication and over-optioning across channels.
Inventory, Sell-Through & Markdown Control
• Track weekly sell-through, intake vs sell-out, and stock cover.
• Identify slow movers early and drive corrective action.
• Own markdown planning and exit strategy to protect margins.
• Optimize replenishment cadence based on real-time performance.
Go-To-Market (GTM) Ownership – Retail & D2C Retail GTM
• Own launch calendar aligned with store capacity and VM plans.
• Ensure right depth allocation for new drops.
• Align with Retail Ops & VM teams on focus categories and sell-out strategy.
• Track post-launch performance and optimize replenishment.
D2C GTM
• Plan online drops, exclusives, and digital-first capsules.
• Align inventory risk with campaign calendar and marketing spends.
• Ensure price architecture and margin alignment.
• Monitor drop performance and optimize repeat / re-buys.
KPI (Metrics to Evaluate)
• Sell-through % • GMROI • Gross Margin % • Inventory Turn • Stock Cover • Markdown % • Option Productivity • Working Capital Efficiency • GTM On-Time Launch Adherence
Who You Are (Must-Haves) • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Retail Management, Business, or related field. • 3–7 years of experience in buying, merchandise planning, or retail analytics. • Strong understanding of retail merchandising, inventory planning, and demand forecasting. • Proficiency in Excel, retail analytics tools, and ERP/Planning systems. • Analytical mindset with the ability to convert data into actionable decisions. • Strong collaboration skills to work with design, supply chain, retail ops, and marketing teams.
