Job Description
Role: Business Head – Sales & Marketing
Location: Mumbai
Role Overview:
- To develop business by identifying new business opportunities in his/her segment of responsibilities, evaluate current performance and drive segment growth.
- Identify opportunities for new product development, evaluate them and drive R&D projects through innovation process
- Co-creates Vertical Strategy and drives execution of Major / Key initiatives in the assigned segment of responsibility
- Develop product launch strategy, launch packages, promotional tools, marketing and training material for new and existing products to enable better conversion of opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate new product development (NPD) opportunities through market visits, OEM interactions, influencer engagement, and competition tracking.
- Gather deep market insights by understanding customer pain points and engaging with machinery manufacturers and other key stakeholders.
- Support creation of NPD projects aligned with the technology roadmap and identified market opportunities.
- Lead and own NPD projects, driving cross‑functional teams to achieve project milestones on time.
- Ensure “Right First Time” development by defining accurate specifications, validating application test methods, and strengthening testing infrastructure.
- Develop product launch strategies, including launch packages, promotional tools, and marketing/training materials for new products.
- Implement initiatives to increase market share in low‑penetration segments.
- Continuously track competitor products, pricing, and activities, and develop counter‑strategies in coordination with the Chief.
- Identify product development opportunities derived from competitor assessments.
- Create promotional tools, marketing collaterals, and training content to support opportunity conversion.
- Conduct product/application trainings for sales teams, dealers, customers, and OEMs; organize webinars and engagement programs.
- Participate in relevant exhibitions, seminars, and contribute technical content for websites and trade magazines.
- Provide guidance on deviations in monthly sales forecasts for responsible segments.
- Ensure execution of annual/monthly Technical Services & Business Development plans.
- Maintain product quality by aligning specifications, classifying complaints correctly, and driving cross‑functional resolution.
- Review and upgrade Technical Service infrastructure to meet customer needs.
Qualification and Experience:
- B.E./B. Tech in Chemical Engineering, Polymer, Mechanical, or related technical field
- MBA/PGDM in Marketing (preferred but not mandatory).
- 12+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Development, or Technical Services, preferably in chemicals, construction chemicals, adhesives, coatings, or industrial/OEM segments.
- Strong exposure to NPD (New Product Development), customer trials, and cross‑functional project management.
- Experience in quality management, handling customer complaints, and coordinating with R&D and manufacturing teams.
Demonstrated capability in sales enablement, market analysis, competitor tracking, and driving product launches
