Job Description
Sumip Composites Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Development / Inside Sales professional to contribute to the company’s growth across domestic and international industrial markets. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, generating and qualifying leads, understanding customer requirements, managing sales inquiries, following up on quotations and proposals, and driving opportunities towards conversion. The ideal candidate should have experience in B2B industrial sales, technical sales, or business development and possess the ability to understand technical products and communicate their applications and value effectively to customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across target industries and markets
- Generate qualified leads through market research, online platforms, databases, networking, cold calling, email outreach, and other industry sources
- Identify potential customers, consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, distributors, and other relevant business prospects
- Research target markets, industries, projects, and customer requirements to build a strong sales pipeline
- Connect with key decision-makers and initiate business discussions
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable product solutions
- Develop strong knowledge of the company’s product portfolio, technical capabilities, applications, and industry requirements
- Present product features, applications, and solutions effectively to prospective customers
- Handle customer inquiries and coordinate with internal teams for technical and commercial requirements
- Conduct product presentations and virtual meetings with potential customers
- Maintain regular communication and follow-ups with prospects throughout the sales cycle
- Follow up on inquiries, quotations, technical proposals, and commercial offers
- Work towards converting qualified opportunities into orders
- Achieve defined monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, and expanding existing customer accounts
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up at every stage of the sales process
- Support the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve business growth objectives
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Understand customer challenges, project requirements, and future business opportunities
- Ensure timely communication and coordination throughout the customer journey
- Act as a point of contact between customers and relevant internal departments
- Coordinate with technical, design, costing, production, and other internal teams for customer requirements
- Support the preparation and submission of quotations, proposals, technical documents, and other sales-related information
- Ensure smooth communication between customers and internal teams for effective execution of opportunities
- Maintain accurate and updated records of leads, opportunities, customer interactions, and follow-ups in the CRM system
- Prepare regular sales reports, MIS reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates
- Monitor competitor activities, market developments, customer trends, and emerging business opportunities
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to support business and sales strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field
- MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Development would be an advantage
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Business Development, Inside Sales, Technical Sales, or B2B Industrial Sales
- Experience in the Electrical, Instrumentation, Engineering, Manufacturing, FRP/GRP, or related industrial sectors would be preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of B2B and industrial sales processes
- Ability to understand and communicate technical product information
- Strong lead generation, prospecting, and follow-up capabilities
- Negotiation and customer relationship management skills
- Target-oriented approach with a strong focus on sales conversion
- Ability to manage multiple leads and opportunities simultaneously
- Good analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office, and sales reporting tools
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
