Business Development Manager - Solar (40% travel)

About the Role:

A highly respected EPC contractor in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives across utility-scale renewable energy projects. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying and developing new markets, and driving commercial success in a fast-moving industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Champion the company’s renewable energy services to both new and established clients.
Analyze market trends and identify high-potential opportunities in both emerging and existing markets.
Lead client engagement strategies from identification through proposal, negotiation, and contracting phases.
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and present compelling project execution strategies tailored to client goals.
Maintain primary ownership of strategic accounts throughout project lifecycle stages.
Support proposal development and capture efforts while aligning internal and external stakeholders.
Actively gather market intelligence and customer feedback to help inform business strategy.
Represent the company at key industry events, forums, and professional groups.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
10+ years in the EPC industry with exposure to multiple departments and functions.
5+ years in business development or a related client-facing role.
Deep knowledge of utility-scale solar or renewable energy markets is strongly preferred.
Strong commercial acumen, client relationship management, and negotiation skills.
