Business Development Manager - Solar (40% travel)


About the Role:

A highly respected EPC contractor in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives across utility-scale renewable energy projects. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying and developing new markets, and driving commercial success in a fast-moving industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the company’s renewable energy services to both new and established clients.
  • Analyze market trends and identify high-potential opportunities in both emerging and existing markets.
  • Lead client engagement strategies from identification through proposal, negotiation, and contracting phases.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and present compelling project execution strategies tailored to client goals.
  • Maintain primary ownership of strategic accounts throughout project lifecycle stages.
  • Support proposal development and capture efforts while aligning internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively gather market intelligence and customer feedback to help inform business strategy.
  • Represent the company at key industry events, forums, and professional groups.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in the EPC industry with exposure to multiple departments and functions.
  • 5+ years in business development or a related client-facing role.
  • Deep knowledge of utility-scale solar or renewable energy markets is strongly preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen, client relationship management, and negotiation skills.
