Role Description


This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Business Development & Client Communications Executive.

The role focuses on post-fair and inbound lead conversion through structured communication, rather than active negotiation. The candidate will engage with prospective and existing clients through professional email correspondence, guide them through product selections, and support the conversion of inquiries into confirmed orders.

Once orders are confirmed, the role will ensure a smooth handover to internal teams and continue post-sale communication to maintain client relationships and satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up with leads generated from trade fairs, exhibitions, and inbound inquiries.
  • Manage all client communication via email, including product sharing, clarifications, and updates.
  • Support clients in product selection and order finalization.
  • Convert inquiries into purchase orders / order confirmations.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure accurate order details before confirmation.
  • Handover confirmed orders to merchandising/operations teams for execution.
  • Maintain structured records of all client interactions, inquiries, and order status.
  • Manage post-sale communication, including order updates, dispatch coordination, and feedback collection.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients through consistent communication.
  • Work closely with internal teams (design, merchandising, production) to ensure alignment with client requirements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in client communication, sales coordination, or account management.
  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on professional email correspondence.
  • Experience in handling international clients preferred.
  • Familiarity with the leather, fashion, or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic CRM/ERP tools.
