Job Tile: Business Development Engineer / Business Development Manager / Sales Engineer

As the Manager – Business Development, you are responsible for Developing Strategies for Business Growth and ensure performance levels of the organization are met. You will also be responsible for the performance of the company which is generally decided by the board’s overall strategy. You will report to the Managing Director.


Your Responsibilities Include:

  • As a Manager – Business Development, In addition to high- powered meetings with the board, Senior Management and Clients, Primary objective will be to convert Quotes into Orders. A closer look to your responsibilities is below.
  • Strategize new business by working with the Managing director and his team below to meet the set agenda put forth by the BOD.
  • Generate new business by reaching out to leads generated by extensive research/Marketing leads (cold call and cold email)
  • Respond to enquires and send Techno Commercial proposals as per schedule Targets and Initiates Business partnership with other companies with the support of the Management team.
  • Visit customers regularly and monitor business performance and organization compliance and Increase enquiries/sales through the existing clients.
  • Conduct market intelligence regarding market opportunities, competitors and partners Update the Enquiry Register with verified status of the Quotes (Won/Lost/Dropped) Work with department heads to establish goals and address department scheduling needs
  • Update company profile/Website every 6 months
  • Present POET’s capabilities at Events, Conference and to new customers
  • Actively register and participate in Buyer/Seller platform like, India Mart and Trade India etc
  • Update business Plan Quarterly and take corrective actions based on results
  • Prepare annual business plan
  • Preparing MIS and other Sales Reporting
  • Update database regularly
  • Identify risks and ensures appropriate strategies are in place.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred (Engineering background) with MBA in Marketing or General Management.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Business Development / Technical Sales
  • Strong Technical Knowledge on Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering
  • Software Skills Strong Knowledge Microsoft office, Knowledge on other engineering software preferable
  • Proven Sales expertise and ability to meet organisational revenue targets
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional Analytical Skills to evaluate market trends and opportunities
  • Prior experience in the power or industrial sector is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively within a team, and take initiative proactively.
