Job Title: Bar Server – Trainee

Job Summary:

As a Bar Server – Trainee at Gunpowder, you will begin your journey in the world of bar service and mixology. This is an entry-level role designed specifically for freshers who are enthusiastic, curious, and eager to learn. No prior experience is required – only a willingness to work hard, study, and grow under the guidance of our Lead Bartender and Operations Manager. This role offers structured training, mentorship, and a clear path for growth in the field of bartending and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning & Training

Participate actively in on-the-job training covering beverage preparation, bar operations, service standards, and guest interaction.

Study recipes, flavour profiles, spirits, and cocktail basics as part of your training.

Shadow senior team members to understand professional bar practices.

Guest Service & Interaction

Greet and serve guests with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism.

Support the bar team in ensuring timely service and positive guest experiences.

Develop confidence in communicating beverage recommendations as your knowledge grows.

Bar Support & Operations

Assist in setting up and maintaining a clean, well-stocked bar area.

Help prepare garnishes, mixers, and basic ingredients as instructed.

Follow hygiene and safety standards at all times.

Support with restocking, cleaning, and end-of-shift duties.

Team Contribution

Attend daily briefings, training sessions, and meetings.

Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.

Take feedback constructively and work on continuous self-improvement.

Requirements:

No prior bar or hospitality experience needed – freshers are welcome.

Genuine interest in the world of mixology, cocktails, and bar service.

Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Commitment to putting in the effort, practice, and study required to grow in this field.

Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
