Alright TV is a micro-drama OTT platform built for immersive, short-form storytelling. We focus on high-engagement content experiences — and design plays a central role in how users discover, watch, and stay.

Until now, we’ve worked with an external agency. We’re now building an in-house design team to move faster, think deeper, and shape a stronger product identity with dynamic interface.

The Role

We are looking for an execution-driven Backend Engineer to build and scale the core infrastructure powering the Alright TV ecosystem. You will work on high-throughput systems, optimize APIs for performance, and ensure backend reliability for a consumer-facing micro-drama platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
• Design clean, efficient, and high-performance REST APIs
• Optimize systems for low latency, high concurrency, and reliability
• Implement caching strategies (Redis / in-memory) to improve performance
• Design and manage MongoDB schemas, queries, and indexing strategies
• Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues proactively
• Ensure high availability and system stability during peak traffic
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams for seamless integration
• Complete ownership of the backend and related systems including design, development, deployment, performance and lifecycle management

Technical Requirements

• 3–6 years of backend development experience (consumer apps preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and API design
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexing, optimization)
• Experience with caching systems like Redis
• Understanding of system design fundamentals (HLD/LLD)
• Experience with AI coding assistants like Claude Code/Cursor/Copilot
