Job Description

Role Overview

The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Selenium automation scripts to support quality engineering initiatives across insurance platforms. The role requires strong technical skills, solid understanding of insurance domain processes, and the ability to work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver for web applications across insurance business processes.
Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to create robust automated test scenarios.
Execute automated suites, validate results, troubleshoot failures, and ensure timely resolution of scripting issues.
Contribute to regression suite design, maintenance, and optimization to support continuous delivery.
Collaborate with manual QA teams, developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure functional and technical coverage.
Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and Agile ceremonies while promoting quality best practices.
Ensure proper documentation of automation designs, test data needs, and reusable libraries.
Follow standard guidelines for version control, code reviews, and automation framework enhancements.
Support integration of automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps, proposing enhancements, and sharing technical knowledge.

Technical Skills Required

Strong hands on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java or Python.
Good understanding of TestNG, JUnit, or similar test frameworks.
Experience working with Page Object Model, data driven frameworks, and reusable modular scripting techniques.
Good knowledge of source code management systems such as Git.
Basic experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
Exposure to API automation is an advantage.
Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.

Domain Skills

Good functional understanding of insurance processes spanning policy, billing, claims, and customer servicing.
Familiarity with insurance application front ends, workflows, and integration touchpoints.
Understanding of regulatory constraints, data validation, and domain specific testing needs.

Behavioral Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work in distributed Agile teams with accountability and ownership.
Detail oriented approach and commitment to quality excellence.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Minimum five to seven years of QA experience, with solid experience in Selenium automation.
