Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Athletic Trainer at SUNY Delhi, located in Oneonta, NY. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for evaluating, managing, and treating injuries to student-athletes, along with conducting injury prevention programs and providing rehabilitation services. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate injury reports and records, assisting in event coverage, collaborating with coaching staff, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety protocols. Strong communication with athletes, coaches, and healthcare providers is essential for the role.


Qualifications

  • Expertise in Athletic Training, including the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of sports injuries
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and injury documentation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with coaches, athletes, and medical professionals
  • Advanced understanding of health and safety protocols in athletics
  • Relevant certification, such as BOC certification, and current licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in New York State
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field
  • CPR and First Aid certification required; advanced emergency care skills preferred
  • Experience in a collegiate setting or similar competitive sports environment is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
