Associate Trainee – BD & Consulting

Role Description

This is a full-time role with a structured 3-month On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, leading to confirmation as an Associate Consultant based on performance. The role is designed as an entry pathway into Consulting, with the trainee initially working on business development, market outreach, and research that supports the firm’s consulting mandates.

During the training period, the trainee will actively contribute to the business development lifecycle, including:

• Identifying potential clients and organizations through structured research
• Supporting outreach initiatives via LinkedIn, email, and other professional channels
• Conducting primary and secondary research on companies, industries, and market opportunities
• Preparing prospect lists, business intelligence notes, and sector briefs
• Assisting in proposal preparation and client engagement coordination
• Maintaining lead tracking and outreach databases

Alongside these activities, the trainee will participate in live consulting assignments, supporting senior consultants with:

• Market research and competitive analysis
• Data gathering and synthesis
• Preparation of client presentations and strategy documents
• Execution support for ongoing consulting engagements

The role provides direct exposure to founders, CXOs, and senior consultants, offering hands-on learning across both business development and consulting project environments.

Qualifications & Skills

• MBA Fresher or Graduate with up to 1 year of experience, preferably in Business, Management, Economics, or Humanities from a reputed institution
• Strong written and spoken communication skills (critical for outreach and client engagement)
• Good analytical and research capabilities
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Comfort with online research, data mining, and professional networking platforms
• Curiosity about business strategy, consulting, and market development
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Prior internship or project exposure in market research, consulting, or business development is an advantage
• Street-smart, sincere, and eager to learn in a fast-paced consulting environment

Other Details

Location: Hybrid (Work from Home with need-based Work from Office), Gurugram

Stipend (Training): ₹15,000 per month

Post-Confirmation Role: Associate Consultant

Post-Confirmation Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month (based on capability and mode of working)

Joining: Immediate

Working Mode: Remote-first with coordination requirements
