Job Description

1. Job Purpose: The Analyst, Global Data Science & Analytics will work with a team of data scientists and data engineers to deliver data science solutions. The Analyst will support various analytics projects for internal and external stakeholders, for example providing real-time intelligence on market share, performing analytics to guide clinical trial design, and identifying patients who may be eligible for therapies. These projects use machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, data mining, and visualization techniques to provide analytics solutions to a wide range of challenging business problems. 2. Knowledge, Experience and Education: Education: Bachelor's degree a. Bachelor?s degree in STEM field b. Years of experience, both overall and any industry-specific experience needed: Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, PySpark, SQL, R, SAS) Knowledge of at least one database software required (Databricks/SQL) 3. Other qualifications/certifications. 1-year of experience in medical device industry or experience working with health insurance claims Preferred Able to work both independently and as a team member Experience coordinating and prioritizing for multiple tasks Good organizational and time management skills Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Experience in a life sciences environment a plus 4. Major Accountabilities: Describe the major accountabilities of the job in order of importance Major Accountabilities 1. Lead activities performed to keep an ML model running smoothly, adaptively, and effectively post-deployment. 2. Prepare datasets for statistical analysis and provide data quality checks. 3. Perform programming to create reports and troubleshoot programming issues (in SAS, R or similar). Validate programs, analysis data and results. 4. Provide other study support by reading and summarizing relevant background material, clinical study papers and publications. 5. Assist in interpretation and presentation of results through figures/tables/reports, including necessary explanation of data and analysis. 6. Work as part of a team to understand and deliver solutions for complex data and business problems. 5. Principle Challenges: Select the option that best describes the typical situations/problems the job faces from the drop down, and then provide an example of a typical challenge and how the jobholder would solve it. Follows instructions in completing assignments. Situations are routine and are solved by doing what worked last time Solution: candidate must rerun data models and refresh data sets to reflect the latest data. This will require running programs (models) to generate data sets, and troubleshooting any issues in the programming, should they arise. This will also require the candidate to validate programs, review analysis data and quality check results.
