Job Description
Rockwell Automation's Global Managed Services Support organisation is in search of a motivated and proactive Associate Software Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring uninterrupted support for our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) projects, operating in a 24×7 environment.
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work with a skilled team to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, develop new features / enhancements, and maintain system stability for our customers and company partners. You will monitor system performance, resolve incidents, and ensure escalation.
You will report SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER of the function and will work from our Chennai OMR Office in Hybrid work model.

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work with a skilled team to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, develop new features / enhancements, and maintain system stability for our customers and company partners. You will monitor system performance, resolve incidents, and ensure escalation.
You will report SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER of the function and will work from our Chennai OMR Office in Hybrid work model.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyse and resolve customer issues, document solutions and best practices.
- Collaborate with technical teams and customer service for support.
- Participate in product improvements and respond promptly to technical assistance requests.
- Contribute to support projects with 30% development tasks and rotational shifts for 24×7 support.
- Follow a hybrid work model (3 days in office).
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle: analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Code following specified standards, including pseudo code, comments, and unit testing.
- Deliver well-tested, error-free code and respond promptly to bug reports.
- Conduct system-wide tests, monitor performance, and provide technical support.
- Develop modular solutions, configure/instal software components, and maintain ERP/SAP-MES integration with installation guides
- Must have a bachelor's degree in a technical field related to IT (e.g., BCA, BTech, or BE) with 1+ year experience.
- Must have knowledge of FTPC (FactoryTalk Production Centre)
- Must have technical knowledge software development, systems design, and deployment
- Must have Java Programming skill with MSSQL and Oracle databases.
- Very good command of English (spoken and written).
- Find solutions to technical challenges, especially when standard procedures don't apply
- Willingness to work the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Please note that work shifts in our team include the following time slots: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM. You must be prepared to work in any of these shifts.
- Willingness to work 100% from the office for the first 6 months (hybrid afterward)
- We prefer a Master's degree (MCA, MTech).
- At least 1 year of experience in java-based automation software.
- Experience of SQL and Database management.
- Good understanding in Tyre Manufacturing Execution Systems.
