Reporting To: Professor & Head, Department of Forensic Medicine

Job Summary

The Associate Professor (Forensic Medicine) is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, providing medico-legal and forensic services, conducting research, mentoring faculty and students, and supporting departmental administration in accordance with the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), NABH standards, and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, practicals, tutorials, and clinical demonstrations for MBBS and postgraduate students.
• Supervise medico-legal examinations and post-mortem examinations.
• Guide postgraduate dissertations and undergraduate research projects.
• Conduct and publish research in indexed journals and participate in academic conferences.
• Prepare teaching schedules, assessment methods, and evaluate student performance.
• Mentor Assistant Professors, Senior Residents, and postgraduate students.
• Participate in curriculum development, departmental planning, and academic quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with NMC regulations, NABH standards, and medico-legal documentation requirements.
• Organize CMEs, workshops, seminars, and faculty development programs.
• Perform administrative and academic responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Department.

Qualification

• MD/MS in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology from a recognized institution.
• Must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the post of Associate Professor.
