Job Purpose: This role is responsible for ensuring that all project activities across electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines adhere to quality standards and specifications within the iron ore mining operations. This role involves supporting the Project Site Leads by conducting quality inspections, implementing QA procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards. The QA Projects Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of project deliverables and contributing to the overall success of the project by ensuring that all work meets the required quality levels.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough study of project drawings, BOQ, & Contract Specifications.
  • Preparation / Review of FQP/ inspection format/templates/working methodology/checklist/protocols et. for field QA. Finalizing ITP / SFQP, QA guidelines for projects, standard templates and protocols.
  • Preparation of QA deliverables for tenders. Conduct & visit for Contractor assessment as and when required.
  • Selection of suitable TPI deployment for inspections. TPI Invoice verification and payments.
  • Planning, scheduling & inspection of material / Electrical Equipment’s & items along with erection & commissioning process.
  • Day to day consultation with Engg. team for compliance verification, Engg. inputs & scope clarifications etc.
  • Periodical visit to Vendor works & construction sites for quality inspections & clearance. Performing Pre-dispatch inspections (PDI) of project electrical materials at Vendor works.
  • SQP’s Deviation review & approvals, Vendor MQP review and acceptance
  • Review of IR, observations, compliance and issue of MDCC
  • Regular feedback to Project Quality Manager regarding QC progress reports, inspection & test status, quality issues & NC status.
  • Document management system. Submission of MIS reports to Project Quality Manager
  • Preparation/compilation & verification of all project QC Records & submittals as per contract quality compliance requirements.
  • Stakeholder coordination, both internal & external, all site FQAs. Conduct QA Surveillance at site on every package.
  • Preparation of lesson learnt documents & discussion with leads for further improvement

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Quality team & PQM regularly to resolve day-to-day QC related issues.
  • Attend meetings with Project Contractor, Vendors & internal meetings to communicate quality requirements & highlight quality issues.
  • Follow-up with Contractor, Construction Manager, & Project Manager for closure of NCs and compliance of construction quality during execution of work.
  • Analysis of field data with an objective of improvement during construction.
  • Management development works – Providing inputs to training module as & when assigned.
  • Executing delivery of SAP QM/MM module functions. TPI’s MIS evaluation & circulation.
  • Handling Internal & external Audits related to Quality, compliance and closure of observations / issues.
  • Support CQA for site TPI selection and deployment as & when required

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Work Experience (Range Of Years)

8+ years of experience in quality assurance, engineering, or construction within the mining heavy industry sectors.
