Job Description
We are looking to hire a Chartered Accountant with 5 to 10 years of post-qualification experience to lead and scale our Virtual CFO Services vertical based out of Ahmedabad.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a motivated and entrepreneurial professional who can combine strong execution capability with business development orientation. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing client engagements, leading a team, building processes and SOPs, strengthening delivery quality, identifying growth opportunities, supporting client acquisition, and helping scale the Virtual CFO practice.
The ideal candidate should be ambitious, enthusiastic, willing to learn, comfortable with technology adoption, and ready to travel as required for client meetings and business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
A. Client Delivery / Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Virtual CFO / CFO Advisory assignments for clients across sectors.
- Oversee preparation and review of:
- MIS and management reporting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow planning and working capital management
- Financial analysis and performance tracking
- Monthly / quarterly finance reviews
- Profitability analysis
- Board / investor reporting support
- Financial controls and process improvement initiatives
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on finance, business performance, controls, and decision-making.
- Ensure quality, timeliness, and consistency in service delivery across all client engagements.
- Understand client business models and proactively identify issues, risks, and opportunities.
B. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise team members working on client engagements.
- Allocate work, review deliverables, and ensure team productivity and development.
- Build a culture of ownership, discipline, responsiveness, and client-centricity.
- Train junior team members on execution standards, reporting formats, and client communication.
C. Vertical Building / Process Development
- Build and strengthen the Virtual CFO Services vertical with a scalable operating model.
- Create, document, and continuously improve SOPs, templates, checklists, MIS formats, review mechanisms, and delivery workflows.
- Standardize processes for client onboarding, engagement management, reporting cadence, and internal reviews.
- Help institutionalize best practices for delivery excellence and knowledge management.
D. Business Development / Growth
- Support growth of the Virtual CFO vertical through business development initiatives.
- Identify new client opportunities through networking, referrals, market outreach, and relationship building.
- Participate in pitch meetings, proposal discussions, and client presentations.
- Work with leadership on service positioning, cross-selling, and conversion of prospects.
- Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for additional mandates.
E. Technology & Process Automation
- Drive adoption of technology in finance operations and advisory delivery.
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, dashboarding, workflow streamlining, and better reporting systems.
- Work with accounting / reporting / ERP / BI / productivity tools to improve efficiency and quality.
- Stay updated with new tools and practices relevant to finance transformation and managed finance services.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Virtual CFO / CFO Advisory / outsourced finance / financial controllership / finance consulting / business finance
- Proven experience in leading a team
- Strong understanding of finance, reporting, controls, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management
- Ability to handle both execution and client-facing responsibilities
- Willingness to contribute to business development and vertical building
- Based in Ahmedabad or willing to relocate
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with SMEs, startups, growth-stage companies, family-managed businesses, or mid-market clients
- Exposure to building processes, SOPs, and scalable service delivery models
- Experience in client acquisition, proposal discussions, and relationship management
- Comfort with technology tools, dashboards, ERPs, and automation-led delivery models
