Associate Director – Telecom Consulting | India Market & GCC Growth


Location: PAN India


Role Summary

We are looking for a senior consulting leader to join our practice as Associate Director – Telecom Consulting, with deep expertise in the India telecommunications market and a strong track record of helping clients build, expand, and transform telecom capabilities in India, with a particular emphasis on Global Capability Centers (GCCs).

This is a high-impact leadership role for an individual who combines sector depth, strategic advisory capability, commercial acumen, and transformation leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a nuanced understanding of the India telecom landscape—including operators, infrastructure players, enterprise connectivity, digital platforms, network transformation, and ecosystem evolution—and will be able to translate that understanding into client growth, differentiated solutions, and measurable business outcomes.


Required Experience

  • 15-16 years of relevant experience, with substantial experience in telecom consulting, strategy and transformation, India market advisory, GCC / shared services / global delivery model design, and large-scale program leadership.
  • Strong experience working with or advising telecom operators, telecom infrastructure providers, enterprise telecom / connectivity businesses, and digital infrastructure / technology ecosystem players.
  • Proven experience in business development, account growth, and executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams and managing complex transformation programs end-to-end.


Key Responsibilities

1. Client Leadership and Strategic Advisory

Lead strategic engagements focused on growth strategy, India market expansion, capability build-out, cost transformation, and large-scale business transformation. Develop executive-level recommendations grounded in industry insight, structured problem solving, and practical implementation considerations.

2. Business Development and Practice Building

Drive revenue growth through proactive business development, account mining, relationship expansion, and solution-led selling. Identify, originate, and convert opportunities across telecom strategy, transformation, and GCC advisory. Lead proposal development, commercial structuring, executive pitches. Contribute to the growth of the telecom practice through differentiated offerings, market propositions, and thought leadership.

3. Engagement Delivery and Transformation Oversight

Lead the delivery of complex, high-value consulting engagements with full accountability for quality, client impact, and team performance. Oversee multi-workstream programs involving business, technology, operations, and organizational change dimensions.

4. GCC Strategy and Capability Expansion

Lead client work related to the design, setup, expansion, and transformation of India-based GCCs for telecom and telecom-adjacent organizations. Define GCC strategies spanning capability migration and transition, operating model design, governance and service management, location and footprint strategy, talent and workforce planning, productivity, innovation, and value realization.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Telecommunications, Business, or a related discipline
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred
