About the Role

Applications are invited from qualified and motivated academicians for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Design, for B.Des and M.Des programmes. Expertise in Product Design and/or UI–UX Design is a compulsory requirement. Eligibility, qualifications, and experience shall be as per UGC / University norms.

Responsibilities

• Teach studio-based and theory courses in Product Design and/or UI–UX Design at B.Des and M.Des levels.
• Guide students in design projects, portfolios, capstone projects, and dissertations.
• Assist in curriculum development, studio planning, and course delivery aligned with contemporary design practices.
• Mentor students for design competitions, internships, live projects, and industry exposure.
• Engage in research, innovation, consultancy, and industry collaboration related to Product Design and/or UI–UX Design.
• Participate in departmental and institutional academic activities, reviews, and events.

Qualifications

• Eligibility, qualifications, and experience shall be as per UGC / University norms.

Required Skills

• Strong command of design thinking and user-centered design methodologies.
• Proficiency in relevant Product Design and/or UI–UX tools (CAD, prototyping tools, wireframing, usability testing, etc.).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to guide students in professional practice and portfolio development.

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated academic and/or industry experience in Product Design and/or UI–UX Design is mandatory.
• A strong academic or professional design portfolio is compulsory.
• Experience in interdisciplinary projects, research, innovation, or industry collaboration will be an added advantage.
