Assistant Merchandiser (Apparel)

Primary Job Title (standardized): Assistant Merchandiser – Apparel

We are seeking an on-site Assistant Merchandiser to join a fast-paced apparel sourcing team servicing retail and export customers across India. This role supports end-to-end merchandising activities from sample development to bulk shipment and requires hands-on coordination with vendors, quality, and logistics teams.

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage the order lifecycle: follow samples → approvals → bulk production, monitoring lead times and critical path to meet delivery commitments.
• Create and maintain tech packs, BOMs, and size/spec sheets in PLM; ensure accurate handover to factories and internal teams.
• Track Purchase Orders in ERP, reconcile confirmations and production schedules, and provide timely status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with vendors and QC teams for pre-production approvals, inline inspections, and final inspections to ensure specification and quality compliance.
• Support costing activities: collect quotes, analyse cost components, and assist in vendor negotiation to protect product margins.
• Maintain accurate production and shipment documentation, resolve exceptions (delays, quality issues), and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
