Job Title : Assistant Manager - Sales

Division : Weir Minerals

Location : Raipur (Chhattisgarh)

Purpose of Role:

Weir Minerals is seeking an Assistant Manager – Sales based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh to drive Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket (AM) business across the assigned territory.

In this role, you will partner closely with customers across maintenance, production, and management teams to understand operational challenges and deliver engineered solutions that improve reliability, performance, and value. You will be responsible for strengthening existing relationships, developing new business opportunities, and representing Weir’s product portfolio with technical and commercial confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket (AM) sales for slurry pumps, valves, hydrocyclones, submersible pumps, and related mineral processing solutions across the assigned territory.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers.
  • Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals, participate in tender processes, and lead negotiations through to order closure.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle — from enquiry handling and technical discussions to commercial finalization and customer sign-off.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with agreed KPIs and revenue objectives.
  • Maintain regular engagement with customers across maintenance, operations, procurement, and management teams through site visits and structured follow-ups.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and weekly updates on opportunity status and market intelligence.
  • Ensure timely receivable management and coordinate with internal stakeholders for smooth order execution.
  • Support and manage channel partners/dealers within the territory to maximize market coverage and customer responsiveness.
  • Conduct technical presentations and promotional activities to position Weir’s solutions effectively in the market.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 7–10 years of experience in industrial capital equipment sales or related product lines.
  • Proven experience in sales and marketing of slurry pumps, mineral processing equipment, or comparable engineered industrial solutions.
  • Exposure to industrial product sales within Eastern India or Chhattisgarh region is preferred.

Technical & Commercial Skills:

  • Strong understanding of techno-commercial proposal preparation and tender participation.
  • Experience managing the complete sales cycle, including enquiry handling, negotiations, and order closure.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for sales order processing and reporting is an advantage.

  • Ability to engage with customers at multiple organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently within a defined territory.
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on achieving sales targets and territory growth.
