Salient is an architectural practice engaged with context-driven design, traditional knowledge systems, and built work that is deeply rooted in culture and place. Through long-term fellowships, Salient aims to pass on architectural understanding that can only be learned through observation, making, and on-site experience.

This is a full-time, on-site Temple Architecture Fellowship based in Kolkata.

The fellow will work closely with senior architects, craftsmen, and project teams to understand how temples are conceived, planned, detailed, and built.

The role involves:

• Participating in the design development of temple architecture projects
• Assisting in drawings, documentation, and site coordination
• Learning construction processes through on-site involvement
• Working with craftsmen and consultants during execution
• Supporting research related to temple planning, proportions, and construction methods

This fellowship is designed as a long-term learning opportunity, not a conventional employment role.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch or equivalent)
• Basic proficiency in architectural software and tools
• Willingness to work on-site and engage with construction processes
• Strong curiosity about traditional architecture and building methods
• Ability to observe, document, and learn through hands-on involvement
