Job Title: Sr. Application Engineer / Application Engineer – ANSYS

Location: Chennai

About:

The Application Engineer engages in pre-sales, post-sales, training and consulting activities to simulate complex mechanical engineering problems for customers using ANSYS software products. As an expert user of ANSYS Mechanical, CFD software products, the role also supports and trains application engineers and sales representatives in the use of ANSYS Solution and helps key customers in the proper usage of related software tools to improve customer productivity and satisfaction with ANSYS simulation products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understanding customer needs in structural, thermal, vibration analysis, explicit dynamics and providing right methodologies with Ansys solutions to ensure customer success.
• Demonstrating the value of the ANSYS vision and software to existing/prospective customers through collaboration with direct and indirect Sales to grow sales volume.
• Creating and presenting software demonstrations to assist with the software sales process, developing novel simulation solutions to streamline existing workflows, perform technical product presentations; ensuring software deployment and adoption; driving competitive benchmarks.
• Providing high-quality technical support to existing customers to ensure retention and customer satisfaction.
• Performing consulting activities in complex mechanical engineering problems using ANSYS Inc. software products.
• Training customers in the usage of ANSYS simulation products to increase their proficiency, independence, and success in simulating engineering problems with ANSYS software.
• Collaborating with product development teams by providing customer requirements as well as performing testing of new product releases to ensure improved customer experience.
• Adopting AI/ML solutions into simulation workflow using PyANSYS and streamline the workflow by creating Journals/ App based applications.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience:

• A minimum of 5-8 year of ANSYS hands-on industrial experience
• Expert-level knowledge of structural, thermal, vibration and explicit.
• Use of ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS CFD, ANSYS LS-Dyna, ANSYS Simplorer (Twinbuilder), Digital Twin and related software packages
• Practical work experience in design, physical test, product development is an advantage
• Ability to work independently, as well as with other individuals/teams
• Experience in a customer-facing role would be a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and to communicate effectively with customers.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to create engineering solutions to customer problems.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Knowledge of other commercial structural simulation software packages or semiconductor experience would be a plus
• Work is performed in a general office environment.
• M.E or B.E. in Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Aerospace engineering

Travel:

• 40% of travelling would be required.
