Job Description: API Certified Inspection Engineer

Company: IOCL

Employment Type: Contract (12 Months)Job Summary

We are looking for qualified and experienced API Certified Inspection Engineers to carry out inspection engineering services at IOCL – Mathura Refinery. The role involves inspection of static equipment, piping systems, welding activities, and safety valves, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of piping and stationary equipment such as columns, vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, boilers, tanks, and safety valves.
• Carry out welding inspection and stage-wise inspection activities.
• Review isometric drawings, thickness records, and evaluate minimum required thickness.
• Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic tests as required.
• Prepare inspection reports, documentation, and certifications in approved formats.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, TEMA, NACE and relevant industry standards.
• Follow all refinery safety rules, permit conditions, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of all refinery-related data and documents.
  
  

Qualification Requirements

• Graduate Engineer (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering OR
• Diploma / AMIE in Mechanical or Metallurgical discipline
• Must be from a recognized university/institute.
  
  

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of inspection experience in:
• Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical / Fertilizer industries
• Hands-on experience in inspection of:
• Pressure vessels, piping, furnaces, reactors, heat exchangers, tanks, and safety valves
  
  

Mandatory Certifications

• API 653 certification (Tank Inspector)
• With any ONE of the following valid certifications:
• API 510 – Pressure Vessel Inspector
• API 570 – Piping Inspector
• API 571 – Corrosion & Materials
• API 577 – Welding Inspection
  
  

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• ASME Section V, VIII (Div 1), IX
• API codes & recommended practices
• TEMA, NACE guidelines
• Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation
• Ability to prepare sketches, drawings, and inspection documentation
  
  

Work Schedule

• Shift-based working (Day / Evening / Night)
• 8 hour shifts
