Job Description
The Analyst II is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing data reports, dashboards, and analytical insights that support business decision-making. This role works closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable reporting solutions, ensure data accuracy, and identify trends and opportunities through analysis. The Analyst II role is a mid-level position, requiring solid technical expertise, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently on moderately complex data initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards. Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs. Document report logic, definitions, and data sources for transparency and reuse.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting and analytical requirements. Translate business needs into technical specifications and reporting solutions. Present insights and findings in a clear, concise, and business-friendly manner.
- Research and document how data from multiple systems is stored and used. Utilize the knowledge gained to extract, transform, and validate data needed for task at hand. Optimize queries and reports for performance and scalability. Support data governance efforts by following established data standards and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes. Recommend improvements to existing reports and dashboards based on business feedback. Stay current with reporting tools, analytics techniques, and data visualization best practices.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles.
- Hands-on experience working with structured datasets in a corporate or enterprise environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation.
- Intermediate/Advanced Power BI experience, including:
Data modeling (star schema, relationships)
DAX measures and calculations
Performance optimization
Workspace, dataset, and report lifecycle management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query).
- Familiarity with relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with ETL processes or data preparation tools is a plus.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management concepts.
- Experience supporting global or cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
