Job Description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager – Data Support who will play a critical role in supporting the Lead – Data Support in managing reporting workflows, data analysis activities, and daily operational deliverables. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in MIS/Reporting, excellent analytical abilities, and the capability to handle daily issue resolution while guiding analysts with best practice.


Role

  • Manage the end-to-end reporting processes, including data extraction, transformation, and presentation.
  • Ensure overnight MIS jobs, and dashboards run successfully; troubleshoot failures in SQL/Python.
  • Distribute workload across 4–6 analysts, set priorities, and monitor SLA adherence.
  • Interact with different teams (sales, risk, operations, credit, audit, product, etc.) – clarify requests.
  • Decide which requests need immediate delivery, which can be automated, and which should be declined/redirected.
  • Effective management of business-critical support requests during late evenings / early mornings / holidays (beyond working hours)
  • Hands-on debugging when issues arise in Python scripts, SQL queries, or dashboards.


Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, quant or related field but not mandatory).
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience in automated reporting and MIS


Essential skills

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and extracting data.
  • Strong experience in Python for data processing and automation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to fix issues related to data and reports.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with functional leads.
  • Prior exposure to tech/data support in odd working hours.
  • Strong project management and process optimisation mindset.
  • Prior experience of working in BFSI/NBFC/Lending industry is plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting and compliance is plus.
  • Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau / Power BI) is plus.
