AI Engineer

Center of Excellence in Human-centered Computing at IIIT Delhi is inviting applications for “AI

Engineer-Product Strategy Unit .” The Product Strategy Unit for Inclusive Public Technology is an

initiative aimed at bringing industry and academic experts together and enabling the creation of

digital public goods, bodies of knowledge, and implementation processes to help make public digital

systems more inclusive and expand the reach of public service delivery.

This role offers the opportunity to impact public infrastructure and services through innovative

digital solutions significantly. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology for social good

and able to navigate complex stakeholder environments while driving product success. In this role,

you will be working closely with various government departments and provide support to develop

highly scalable, secure, user friendly and robust technology products

The candidate should be well-versed in developing and managing AI & ML applications, data

analytics applications and be familiar with current technological trends.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Build, deploy and maintain AI applications such as image recognition, speech to text,

language translation, and GenAI applications with RAGs, Knowledge Graphs & multi-modal
LLMs

• Build, deploy and maintain data analytics applications or data systems that power AI

• Review existing applications and identify performance improvements, and demonstrate

• Build, deploy and maintain any internal products developed CHCC for its stakeholders
• Follow best practices in software development lifecycle including code quality, security,

CI/CD

Qualifications :

Educational qualifications: B. Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/

Electronics/ Information Technology or related fields

Preferred Skills :
A very good understanding of transformers, LLMs, DNNs
Well versed in PyTorch, Huggingface
Deployment - vLLM, llama.cpp
Database systems - SQL, Graph Databases, Big Data experience (optional)

Salary and Duration:

• Salary: Up to ₹40 lakhs per annum, based on qualifications and experience.

• Nature: Contractual and project-based position.

• Duration: Co-terminus with the project (currently till July 31, 2026).

• Tenure: As per the offer letter or project completion, whichever is earlier.

Location: The candidate chosen for this role will be working at the physical premises of IIIT-Delhi,

Okhla Phase 3, New Delhi. The work is full-time and on-premises.
