Accounting Operations Lead, Cloud Revenue

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
• Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition standard.
• Ability to work with cross-functional and international teams.
• Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.

The Google Cloud Controller team handles the core accounting and compliance responsibilities at Google while working closely with our business and finance partners to continue enabling the exceptional growth of Google Cloud. As a member of this team, you will advise on financial and accounting matters and review, analyze, and interpret data for accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed accounting analysis of complex business transactions with multiple performance obligations and prepare adjusting entries, if necessary.
• Work with internal business teams to develop scalable and repeatable processes that ensure appropriate revenue recognition.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline processes in collaboration with cross-functional leads.
• Perform monthly and quarterly business close procedures.
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects to support proper revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
