Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a strong analytical mind, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Recordkeeping:
- Maintain and update general ledgers and financial records accurately.
- Process daily transactions including accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate reports on budget variances, financial performance, and forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial plans.
- Compliance & Auditing:
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
- Prepare documentation and support audit processes.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and standards.
- Tax & Payroll Management:
- Assist with tax preparations and filings.
- Manage payroll processes and employee expense reimbursements.
- Maintain records for tax returns and other statutory submissions.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial insights and resolve discrepancies.
- General Administrative Duties:
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial data and secure storage of sensitive documents.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software Tally Erp and Microsoft office.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
