Qualification: B.Sc./M.Sc. Agriculture, B.Tech. Agriculture, MBA (Agri Business) or equivalent.

Position Overview

The Zonal Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, market development, channel expansion, and team performance across the assigned territory. The role requires a seasoned agri-professional capable of developing distribution networks, managing sales teams, strengthening customer relationships, and achieving sustainable business growth.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop and execute zonal sales strategies to achieve annual business targets.
  • Drive revenue growth through market expansion and new business development.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend growth initiatives.

Sales & Distribution Management

  • Strengthen distributor and dealer networks.
  • Appoint, develop, and monitor channel partners.
  • Improve secondary sales and market penetration.
  • Ensure product availability across assigned territories.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate Area Sales Managers, Territory Managers, and Sales Officers.
  • Monitor team productivity through KRAs and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular field coaching and performance reviews.

Market Development

  • Organize farmer meetings, demonstrations, field days, dealer meets, and promotional campaigns.
  • Work closely with influencers, progressive farmers, and agricultural institutions.
  • Promote new product launches and market development initiatives.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships with distributors, dealers, institutional customers, and key opinion leaders.
  • Resolve customer concerns and strengthen service standards.

Business Planning

  • Prepare annual sales plans, territory budgets, and forecasting.
  • Monitor inventory, collections, and sales realization.
  • Ensure effective implementation of pricing and marketing strategies.

Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor activities, pricing, product positioning, and market trends.
  • Provide market feedback to management for product improvement and strategic planning.

Cross Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, and R&D teams to ensure smooth business operations.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • 12–18 years of experience in Agri Inputs, Crop Nutrition, Bio Fertilizers, Bio Pesticides, Plant Growth Promoters, Seeds, Crop Protection, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience in handling large sales territories and distributor networks.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and channel development skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.
