Project Description: Our client is a leading commodity trading and logistics company. They are committed to building and maintaining world-class IT applications and infrastructure. The Trading IT group directly supports the trading business, and this business has started a far-reaching programme to enhance and improve its trading applications using an innovative architecture to support business growth across the full range of business lines and geographies, and to enable the sharing of systems across different businesses. This programme is aimed at delivering functional capabilities, enhancements, and technical infrastructure upgrades to enable continued business growth and enhanced profitability for the firm. Client is looking to replace existing reconciliation system Gresham with Exceptor which will be enterprise-wide recon platform across FO, MO and BO Responsibilities: Solution Design & Development Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using Xceptor. Design and develop data ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows. Create rule-based logic to manage data exceptions and automate decision-making. 2. Data Integration Integrate Xceptor with various data sources such as flat files (CSV, XML, Excel), databases, APIs, or third-party systems. Configure ingestion layers for structured and unstructured data. Ensure compatibility and smooth data flow between upstream/downstream systems. 3. Workflow Automation Build automated workflows for business processes (e.g., reconciliations, client onboarding, trade validations). Develop exception handling and error management within the workflows. 4. Testing & Validation Perform unit testing of developed workflows and rules. Work with QA teams to support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensure outputs meet business data quality standards. 5. Deployment & Support Assist in promoting solutions from development to production environments. Provide post-deployment support, including defect fixing and performance tuning. Monitor workflows and troubleshoot issues in production. 6. Documentation & Reporting Create and maintain technical documentation for developed workflows, transformations, and rules. Prepare user manuals and training guides for business users. Build reporting dashboards if required. 7. Collaboration Work closely with business analysts, data analysts, and project managers to align technical implementations with business needs. Liaise with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise policies. 8. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for process optimization or reuse of components. Stay updated on new Xceptor features and best practices to improve efficiency and maintainability. Mandatory Skills Description: 7+ years of overall experience out of which at least 2 years on Xceptor b) c) Experience in migration or automation projects using Xceptor Programming/Scripting Knowledge a) Basic scripting (JavaScript or Xceptor's in-built scripting logic) b) SQL for data manipulation and validation c) XML / JSON for structured data handling Database and Data Handling a) Strong skills in working with RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) b) Experience in handling large datasets and data reconciliation ETL and Data Transformation a) Understanding of ETL concepts and tools (Xceptor is often used as an ETL tool) b) Experience with data cleansing, validation, and transformation logic SDLC and Agile Methodologies a) Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments b) Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (JIRA, Jenkins, etc.) Problem Solving and Debugging a) Ability to debug workflows and resolve complex data transformation issues Communication and Collaboration a) Strong communication skills to interact with BA, QA, and business stakeholders b) Ability to translate business requirements into technical workflows Nice-to-Have Skills Description: An ideal candidate will also have expertise in some or all of the following: Jira or a similar issue-tracking systems
