Job Description

Position Name : Workday Security Consultant

Location: Remote

Position Type: Fulltime

We are seeking an experienced Workday Security Consultant to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of security configurations within the Workday platform. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Workday security frameworks, role-based access controls, and governance of user access across Workday HCM and Financial modules.

This role will also work closely with HR, IT, and compliance teams to ensure secure access management, regulatory compliance, and best practices for enterprise security within Workday environments.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Security Administration

Design, configure, and maintain Workday security roles, domains, and business process security policies.
Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC) across Workday HCM and Financial modules.
Configure domain security policies and business process security policies.
Manage user provisioning, role assignments, and access reviews.

Security Governance & Compliance

Conduct security audits and periodic access reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Work with internal audit teams to support SOX compliance and security governance initiatives.
Identify and resolve segregation of duties (SoD) conflicts and security risks.

Access Management & Integration

Support integration of Workday security with identity management systems such as Okta, Azure AD, or other SSO platforms.
Ensure secure configuration of inbound and outbound integrations involving Workday data.
Support user lifecycle management including onboarding, role changes, and termination access controls.

Security Design & Implementation

Participate in Workday implementations, upgrades, and security redesign initiatives.
Work with HR, finance, and IT teams to define and implement security requirements for new Workday modules or features.
Provide recommendations on security architecture and best practices.

Support & Troubleshooting

Provide production support for Workday security-related issues.
Troubleshoot access issues and resolve security configuration conflicts.
Maintain documentation for security configurations, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Workday Security configuration.
Deep knowledge of Workday security frameworks including domains, roles, and business process security policies.
Experience managing role-based security models and user access management.
Understanding of segregation of duties (SoD) controls and compliance frameworks.
Experience supporting Workday HCM and/or Workday Financials environments.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Workday implementations or major security redesign projects.
Experience integrating Workday with Identity Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Okta, Azure AD, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Workday reporting tools for security audits and access reviews.
Experience supporting SOX compliance or internal audit initiatives.
