Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Workday QA Analyst with strong expertise in HR, Payroll, and Compensation modules. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working closely with Payroll and HR business teams to perform System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Workday implementations, enhancements, integrations, and production support initiatives.

The candidate will be responsible for validating end-to-end HR and Payroll business processes, ensuring data accuracy, payroll compliance, compensation calculations, integrations, and reporting functionalities within the Workday ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, and Business stakeholders to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for Workday HR, Payroll, and Compensation modules.
  • Execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Partner directly with Payroll business teams to validate payroll processes, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, retro pay, and payroll outputs.
  • Validate compensation processes including merit increases, bonus plans, stock awards, promotions, market adjustments, and compensation review cycles.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across Workday HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, and Integrations.
  • Validate inbound and outbound integrations between Workday and third-party systems.
  • Create and execute payroll parallel testing and reconciliation activities.
  • Identify, document, track, and support defect resolution through defect management tools.
  • Coordinate with functional consultants, developers, integration teams, and business users during testing cycles.
  • Conduct regression testing for Workday releases and enhancements.
  • Support test data preparation, environment validation, and test execution reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and organization policies.
  • Participate in requirement reviews and provide QA recommendations during design discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of QA experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday QA experience.
  • Proven experience supporting Payroll and Compensation testing initiatives.
  • Experience working directly with Payroll business stakeholders during SIT and UAT.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday HCM Certification.
  • Workday Payroll or Compensation experience.
  • Experience with Workday implementation or transformation projects.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements.
