Job Description
Overview:
The Windows System Expert should have strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The Expert will design, deploy, administer, secure, and optimize enterprise Windows workloads across multi-cloud environments. This includes Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server systems, cloud networking, storage services, automation frameworks, and platform governance. The role is critical to ensuring secure, compliant, and highly available Windows services supporting enterprise digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and manage Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 instances across OCI & GCP.
- Maintain OS lifecycle: patching, updates, security baselines, image management, and hardening.
- Administer DNS, DHCP, File Services, IIS, SMB shares, Failover Clustering, and PowerShell DSC.
- Develop golden images and automate OS builds using Packer, Terraform, or cloud-native tooling.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Active Directory, GPOs, trust relationships, and identity federation.
- Integrate AD with OCI Identity Domains and GCP IAM.
- Provision and maintain Windows compute workloads in OCI and GCP.
- Configure cloud networking: VCN/VPC, routes, NSGs/firewalls, load balancers, and private access.
- Manage cloud storage: block volumes, file storage, snapshots, and backup/restore workflows.
- Use PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible (Windows modules), and cloud CLIs for automation.
- Integrate Windows automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build).
- Implement Windows hardening aligned with CIS benchmarks and NCA requirements.
- Configure system monitoring (OCI Monitoring, GCP Cloud Monitoring, Event Viewer, OS metrics).
- Establish runbooks, SOPs, incident response workflows, and RCA documentation.
- Act as primary Windows SME and collaborate with cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams.
- Produce documentation, standards, architecture patterns, and reusable templates.
- Mentor engineers and lead knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred to have professional certifications such as: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity & Access Administrator, OCI Architect Professional, OCI Cloud Operations Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate
Experience:
- 8–12 years of experience in Windows Server administration in enterprise environments with at least 5 years of experience managing Windows workloads in OCI and/or GCP.
- Strong expertise in Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, ADCS
- Experience with Windows clustering, IIS, load balancing, and PowerShell.
- Experience deploying and managing OCI and GCP compute/storage/networking for Windows workloads.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS).
