Job Description

Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting operational productivity targets.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

  • Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
  • Monitor workflow to maintain efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and other departments.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff.
  • Assign tasks and monitor employee performance.
  • Conduct staff briefings and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Assist in recruitment and training of new employees.

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.
  • Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure the warehouse operates in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Enforce safe working practices and proper use of equipment.
  • Report incidents and implement preventative measures.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement operational procedures and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, warehouse software)
  • Forklift licence (preferred, depending on warehouse requirements)

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed in a warehouse environment.
  • May involve lifting, standing, and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Shift work or overtime may be required during peak periods.
