Job Overview

The Head of IT Production Services is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of IT infrastructure, ensuring its stability, performance, and alignment with business goals. Key duties include managing production environments, leading and developing a technical team, overseeing budgets, and ensuring system availability through performance monitoring, maintenance, and disaster recovery planning. This role requires a blend of strong leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen. In addition, the Head of Production Services is responsible for assuring coordination and collaboration with the associated leaders across all Data Center and application engineering teams, meeting program and project deadlines, and managing the shift turnover from site to site for consistent support coverage for our advisors and investors.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Provide strategic direction for IT infrastructure, including data centers, servers, networks, and cloud services, to support business objectives
  • Team management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, overseeing their performance and ensuring the team has the necessary skills and resources
  • Budget and vendor management: Develop and manage the IT budget, negotiate with external vendors, and oversee contract management
  • Operations and support: Ensure the day-to-day operational stability and performance of all production systems, including managing incidents and implementing corrective actions
  • Project and change management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, and manage the implementation of new applications and system changes through a standard change management process
  • Performance and quality: Monitor and report on key performance metrics, analyze performance data, and implement strategies to improve service delivery and meet service targets
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure business resilience
  • Matrixed Leadership: Providing 24/7 coverage across all aspects of IT engineering, assuring organizational KPI’s are exceeded or met, and transitions from other locations are successful

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, minimum of 10 years of experience with a strong background in managing production environments, infrastructure, and large-scale technical projects
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Or Equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
  • Technical expertise: Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, databases, and storage, and experience with IT service management and changing management processes
  • Financial acumen: Experience in managing IT budgets and understanding financial implications of technology decisions
