Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on operations leader to manage and optimize broker-dealer offshore processes in a Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, India. As Vice President, Offshore Operations, you will be directly responsible for overseeing everyday operational activities supporting our US broker-dealer business, with a focus on transaction processing, client onboarding, regulatory reporting, surveillance support, and back-office functions. You will also play a critical role in building out a high-performing, resilient operations team from the ground up, shaping the foundation for process excellence and future growth. Job Overview

As Vice President, Offshore Operations, you will be directly responsible for overseeing everyday operational activities supporting our US broker-dealer business, with a focus on transaction processing, client onboarding, regulatory reporting, surveillance support, and back-office functions. You will also play a critical role in building out a high-performing, resilient operations team from the ground up, shaping the foundation for process excellence and future growth. Success in this role hinges on deep expertise in financial services operations, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to guide high-performance teams in a regulated, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Building Out a Team from Scratch
- Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of a new operations team in Hyderabad, defining clear roles and responsibilities tailored to each process area.
- Execute a comprehensive training program to equip new hires with essential skills, operational knowledge, and regulatory awareness.
- Establish operational policies, workflows, and controls from the outset to foster consistency and compliance across all activities.
- Instill a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture to ensure team members share core values and work together to achieve operational excellence.
- Mentor and coach team members, identifying growth opportunities and designing career development paths to support long-term retention and advancement.
- Regularly assess resource needs and team structure, making adjustments to respond to evolving business volumes and priorities.
- Build strong relationships with local talent partners and leverage Hyderabad’s marketplace to attract top operational talent.
- Oversee daily India-based operations supporting broker-dealer functions, including account opening, trade settlement, cashiering (wires, ACH, margin), advisor compensation payments, and fraud detection.
- Coordinate and monitor transaction flows to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Maintain high standards for data quality, error resolution, and operational controls.
- Keep abreast of any US regulation changes, and assess impacts to offshore operations to communicate to leadership.
- Ensure all offshore processes adhere strictly to US regulatory requirements (FINRA, SEC), including surveillance, AML/KYC, and regulatory reporting (CAT, TRACE, 17a-3/4).
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining comprehensive records and facilitating information requests.
- Identify and address process inefficiencies, working with teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational friction.
- Implement automation and tools where appropriate to improve throughput and reliability.
- Work with product and technology teams to design and implement new solutions to increase efficiencies or to resolve issues impacting day-to-day operations.
- Direct, mentor, and motivate a team of operations professionals, ensuring a disciplined and responsive work environment.
- Guide staff training on process changes and compliance requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with US-based business and compliance teams to ensure operational alignment and service quality.
- Respond promptly to inquiries or issues impacting operations, and maintain a strong communications channel with US counterparts to ensure transparency.
- 10+ years of experience in financial services operations, with at least 5 years in broker-dealer operations and team management.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing & settlement, regulatory reporting, and broker-dealer compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting with US-based broker-dealers and familiarity with FINRA/SEC regulations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Series 99 (required within 90 days of start date), Series 7 & 24 preferred.
- Process-oriented and detail-focused work style.
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication and team-building capabilities.
- Familiarity with Hyderabad’s talent marketplace.
